For us at SCC, this isn’t just about horsepower or aerodynamics, it’s about our ethos: passion! And the Sadair’s Spear is passion, engineered. We were delighted to see this phenomenal machine in person at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, and witness the ear-piercing roar as it took to the hillclimb – achieving the record as the fastest production car, conquering the course in just 47.14 seconds!

When Koenigsegg reveals a new car, it’s never just a car. It’s an event. A statement. And with the unveiling of the 2025 Sadair’s Spear just weeks ago, Christian von Koenigsegg and his team have once again pushed the boundaries of what a hypercar can be. Limited to just 30 units, this eye-watering £3.3 million Megacar is already sold out globally.
In Christian Von Koenigsegg’s own words, “Sadair’s Spear represents a natural progression for Koenigsegg—an impeccable balance of raw power, refined aerodynamics, and extraordinary road presence. This car is destined to set records. Achieving such track dominance in a fully road-legal vehicle is nothing short of remarkable.”
From Jesko to Sadair: A Legacy of Speed and Obsession
To appreciate the Sadair’s Spear, you have to look back to its predecessor, the Jesko. Launched in 2019 to honour Christian von Koenigsegg’s father, Jesko von Koenigsegg, it was a deeply personal project, and one that cemented the brand’s standing in hypercar engineering.
The Jesko was a technical masterpiece, with up to 1,600 horsepower on E85 and a focus on active aero, downforce and razor-sharp handling. It was built for the track but designed to capture hearts.
The Sadair’s Spear continues the family-orientated storytelling, a celebration of the horse that Jesko von Koenigsegg rode his final race with in 1976. There’s something beautifully poetic about naming this machine after a racehorse, and in Koenigsegg’s official words, “fittingly for a car named for a racehorse, the car is designed to be 100% focused on outstanding track performance”.

Design That Stops Time
Visually, the Sadair’s Spear is something else. It’s aggressive but sculptural, every crease and cut deliberate, like it’s been shaped by the wind itself.
At the front, you’ll find a more pronounced splitter, gaping air channels and a sharp, arrow-like nose that gives it an unmistakably predatory stance. The rear is all about function and theatre—Sadair’s Spear features a new, active, top-mounted rear wing with a double-blade design featuring a straight profile optimised for greater downforce at lower speeds. This is complimented by underfloor strakes and wheel arch louvres that improve airflow around and underneath the car.
Even if you’re not into specs and numbers, you can’t help but admire the proportions and the drama. There’s a beautiful symmetry in the chaos. This machine looks fast even when parked, and manages to take your breath away whilst sitting still. It’s truly mesmerising.

The Track Is Its Natural Habitat
Now to the fun bit: performance! While official lap times are yet to be confirmed, all signs suggest the Sadair’s Spear is built to break records. It’s lighter than the Jesko, stiffer in the corners, and fitted with an updated version of Koenigsegg’s proprietary nine-speed Light Speed Transmission (LST). That means near-instantaneous gear changes and a driving feel that’s been described as borderline telepathic.
The engine remains a heavily refined twin-turbocharged V8, but with clever revisions that deliver more responsive torque across the rev range. It’s not just about raw numbers anymore; it’s about how it delivers them. The handling has also been completely reworked, with a new track-tuned suspension geometry and adaptive dampers that adjust based on cornering loads and surface changes in real time.
And downforce. Lots of it. Koenigsegg hasn’t released final figures yet, but early estimates suggest it generates more than the Jesko Attack.
But perhaps most exciting is the accessibility Koenigsegg has engineered into the experience. The Sadair’s Spear is track-first, yes, but it’s not track-only. You can spec it for road use, and for those who do, you’re essentially bringing a piece of top-level motorsport into everyday life.
Final Thoughts
The Sadair’s Spear is not just another hypercar, it’s a celebration of what Koenigsegg does best: think differently, build boldly, and push limits. It’s the kind of car that turns us all into grinning children.
